asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the fact that spawning fish are at present unable to get over the weir at Borris, County Carlow; and if he will take the necessary steps to ensure that a fish pass is provided in the weir.

My Department have been in contact with the owner of the weir and other interested parties about the matter. It is hoped that the matter can be rectified through the installation of a fish pass later this year.
