asked the Minister for the Environment whether loan approval has issued in respect of phase 1 of the Dargle river protection scheme, County Wicklow; and, if so, when such approval was issued.

Preliminary proposals for stage 1 of the River Dargle flood protection scheme were approved on 6 January 1988. The further planning of these works is a matter for the local authority. The question of providing funds does not arise at this time.
