asked the Minister for Finance when he will produce his first six-monthly report on measures taken in his Department to eliminate discrimination against women as announced in the EC publication Women of Europe (details supplied) and the form its publication will take.

The first six-monthly report on the position of women in my area of responsibility will cover the period January-June 1988 and will be made in July 1988. I am not aware if it is intended to publish the report. Decisions on this will not, of course, be a matter for me.
