Harte asked to extend the 31 October application deadline for special voters; Flynn said changing the regulations’ closing date was inappropriate at this stage.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will extend the date for the receipt of applications for special voters to allow for genuine delays, beyond the present date of 31 October.

Under the regulations relating to the registration of special voters, the period for making application for inclusion in the list now being prepared expired on 31 October. Amendment of the regulations to alter the closing date would not be appropriate at this stage.
