Minister of State’s European duties

The Taoiseach said Deputy Máire Geoghegan-Quinn coordinates departments’ EC work, represents Ireland on the Budget and Culture Councils, and leads preparations for the Single European Market.

The Minister of State at my Department, Deputy Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, is responsible for co-ordinating the approach of Government Departments to European Community business. She represents Ireland on the Budget and Culture Councils.

The Minister of State also has the co-ordinating role in relation to the Government's campaign to promote awareness of and preparation for the completion of the Single European Market.
