Appointments to NUI Senate
The Minister intends to recommend four names for Government appointment but will not disclose them before consideration. She expects the appointments to be finalised shortly, hopefully before Christmas.
asked the Minister for Education the reason the Government has failed to appoint four nominees to the Senate of the National University of Ireland; when it is intended that these appointments will be made; the names of those whom it is intended to appoint; and if she will make a statement on the Government's long-term plans for the National University of Ireland.
Comment on this
It is my intention to recommend four names to the Government for consideration for appointment by the Government to the Senate of the National University of Ireland.
It would be inappropriate for me to divulge the names of the persons I propose to recommend prior to the Government having the opportunity to consider the recommendations.
