National Gallery and Museum appointments
The Taoiseach confirmed Raymond Keaveney’s appointment as National Gallery Director and Patrick Wallace’s as National Museum Director; Enright welcomed Keaveney’s appointment and asked about filling the assistant director vacancy.

The Board of Governors and Guardians of the National Gallery has appointed Mr. Raymond Keaveney, former Assistant Director in the Gallery to the post of Director.
Dr. Patrick Wallace has been appointed Director of the National Museum of Ireland.

Arising out of the Taoiseach's reply is he in a position to say if it is the intention to appoint an assistant director to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Mr. Raymond Keaveney, which is welcome? In view of the fact that there was a "Today Tonight" programme and an article in The Irish Times dealing with the serious condition regarding the roof of the gallery and the state of repair——
