Follow-up on Laois asbestos waste

Summary

Flanagan asked what action would be taken on the Laois incident and when the ESB report was expected. The Minister said the matter was an urgent priority and that remaining waste would be monitored until suitably disposed of.

In view of what the Minister has just said in regard to the incident in County Laois within the past few days perhaps he could indicate to the House what he intends doing about it and when he expects the ESB's report to come to hand?

Comment on this

The matter of the waste referred to is being pursued as a matter of urgent priority by my Department. The important aspect is that there are further amounts of similar waste to be disposed of from that location. I am absolutely resolved that I will give it particular attention until it is suitably disposed of and in a manner over which we can all stand.
