Combined heat and power review
The Minister said his Department’s internal review of combined heat and power was at an early stage, with no conclusions yet; asked whether its results would be shared with the House, he offered no direct commitment.
asked the Minister for Energy whether he has received an interim report from the committee reviewing the potential for combined heat and power; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I do not know what report the Deputy is referring to. Last October, an EC recommendation was agreed to promote co-operation between public utilities and auto-producers of electricity. Following that my Department began an internal review of the merits and disadvantages of CHP to establish whether there might be any benefits at a national level. This review is at an early stage and it is not yet possible to draw any conclusions.

Can the Minister indicate whether the results of this internal review will be made available to the House should a parliamentary question be tabled?
