Export credit insurance coverage

Summary

O’Malley asked whether the exports had export credit insurance and whether it was available to all exporters. Brady and the Ceann Comhairle treated this as outside the statistical question and advised him to ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce separately.

Were these exports covered in each instance by export credit insurance from Ireland?

Comment on this

That is a separate question and I am dealing purely with the tabular statement which is available to the Deputy.

Perhaps the Deputy should await submission of the tabular statement.

Comment on this

I have no doubt that the Minister of State knows the answer and I advise him to give it. If these were covered, was export credit insurance available to all firms exporting in this category from Ireland to the four countries?

Matters of policy clearly do not arise on an essentially statistical question.

Comment on this

It is a simple matter of fact that can be answered "yes" or "no".

The Deputy should put down a separate question if be wants this information.

Comment on this

It is noteworthy that it has not been answered.

Comment on this

I suggest that the Deputy puts down a separate question in this regard to the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
