asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding a request for an extension on the school bus service for a school (details supplied) in County Waterford.

This request is for an extension of an early afternoon service catering solely for infants. Such service is allowed only on the basis that it can be operated at no extra State cost. The request for the extension in question was declined by my Department as it could not be introduced without incurring extra State cost.
