asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction the temporary teacher at Colehill national school, County Longford being made permanent as the numbers at the school are such as to justify a permanent appointment.

Earlier this month I was pleased to have been in a position to have sanctioned the permanent post in this school.

This decision followed consultation with the Minister for Finance regarding the granting of permanent status, under special circumstances, to a small number of teachers who had not been appointed on a permanent basis from the date of their appointment.
