asked the Minister for Energy, arising out of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 42 of May, 1989, the basis on which the fee was calculated; whether competitive quotations were sought from any other companies in relation to the transaction; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The fee was agreed by reference to generally prevailing rates of payment for such assignments. Competitive quotations were not sought as it would not have been appropriate to do so in a transaction of this nature.
