asked the Minister for Finance the plans which the Office of Public Works has for King John's Castle, Dungarvan, County Waterford; and when restoration works will commence.

The Office of Public Works propose to carry out a major scheme of conservation works at Dungarvan Castle and to provide visitor and interpretative facilities there. No detailed plans have been prepared to date. The office are already committed to a programme of works at a large number of national monuments throughout the country and it is not possible at this stage to say when resources will be available to commence conservation works at Dungarvan Castle.
