Independent economic adviser

Summary

The Taoiseach said he has no independent specialist economic adviser, so the questions about the adviser’s name, terms of reference and Official Secrets Act declaration do not arise.

Jim Mitchell Mr. J. Mitchell Fine Gael

asked the Taoiseach if he has available to him, within his Department or under contract, an economic adviser independent of and separate from the Department of Finance; if so, if he will give the name of such an adviser; the terms of reference, if any, under which he operates; and whether he has signed the Official Secrets Act declaration.

Comment on this

I have no specialist economic adviser of the nature outlined by the Deputy. The remainder of the question, therefore, does not arise.
