117 Mr. G. Brady asked the Minister for Finance the amount paid in stamp duties in each of the last three years, and the number of instruments stamped; the proportion of those instruments which were conveyances on sale of land as opposed to mortgages, debentures, share transfers or alternatively, the proportion of the duties paid which were attributable to conveyances on sale of land.

The information sought by the Deputy can be found in Table 19 of the 1990 Statistical Report of the Revenue Commissioners which is available in the Oireachtas Library.

I have been further advised by the Revenue Commissioners that records are not maintained of the number of instruments stamped.
