17 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Justice if he will list each Garda barracks in the country; the county in which each is located; the number of gardaí deployed at each of the barracks; the approximate area in square miles for which each barracks is responsible; the average number of persons in each area per garda; and the reason for high concentrations of gardaí in certain barracks; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information sought by the Deputy in parts 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the question, in so far as it is available, is set out in the form of a tabular statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report. It should be noted that figures in relation to the strength at the Garda College, Garda Headquarters and specialised areas in the Dublin Metropolitan Area are not included in the tabular statement.
