166 Mr. E. Walsh asked the Minister for Education when building will commence on the new site for Coláiste de hIde, Dublin; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6895/96]

Architectural planning for the proposed new all-Irish school in Tallaght is proceeding. At present, my Department's technical staff are dealing with the stage two submission — the outline sketch scheme. Discussions are also taking place between the County Dublin Vocational Education Committee and the South Dublin County Council regarding the most suitable site arrangements for the new school.

At this stage, I am not in a position to say precisely when construction will commence on the site for the new school building.
