157 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for the Environment the funding in respect of major improvement works on the national roads in each of the counties in Munster for each of the years from 1990 to 1996. [19305/96]

Details of funding in respect of major improvement works on the national roads in each of the counties in Munster for the years from 1990 to 1995 are contained in the booklet State Grant Payments to Local Authorities for National, Non-National and Non-Public Accommodation Roads and own resources expenditure by Local Authorities on National and Non-National Roads in the period 1986-1995, which is available in the Oireachtas Library.

Responsibility for the allocation and payment of grants to local authorities in respect of national roads now rests with the National Roads Authority. I am arranging to have a copy of the relevant allocations for 1996 forwarded to the Deputy and to have a copy of the NRA allocations for 1996 placed in the Oireacthas Library.
