Séamus Hughes Mr. Hughes Question Fianna Fáil

79 Mr. Hughes asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the names of the persons on the Irish Advisory Committee and the National Committee for Development Education; whether these committees have full-time secretariats; the way in which a voluntary body interested in partnership with communities in the developing world would be represented on such committees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Dick Spring Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Spring) Labour Party

Lists indicating the current membership of the Irish Aid Advisory Committee, IAAC, and the National Committee for Development Education follow.

In the case of the IAAC, the term of office of the existing committee has just expired and a new membership is due to be appointed. The makeup of the new committee will reflect a balance between continuity, to ensure that the existing work of the committee is not disrupted, and some change, to facilitate broad participation in the work of this committee. Care will be taken to ensure the committee membership includes the combination of experience and expertise necessary to address the complex issues of world development.
