My Department is currently considering the cost plan for the proposed extension at the school referred to by the Deputy. When this stage is completed satisfactorily, my Department will be advising the school management to apply for planning permission.

My Department is not in a position to provide grant-aid towards the cost of a community hall an Anabla national school, Kilcummin, Killarney, County Kerry.

While I am anxious to extend the provision of general purpose facilities in primary schools, resources are strictly limited and the priority must remain the provision of essential classroom accommodation and the elimination of existing sub-standard classrooms.
