Michael Noonan Minister for Health (Mr. Noonan, Fine Gael

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 99 and 100 together.

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following tables. It is important to note that the payments listed are gross payments from which practice expenses and overheads have to be met by the contractor, that is, doctor or pharmacist. In addition, these payments are subject to a deduction of 27 per cent withholding tax.

Fees paid by the General Medical Services (Payments) Board to Pharmacists in Counties Sligo and Leitrim in 1996.
