184 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Education the additional costs, if any, to her Department in the event of the temporary full-time staff at St. Angela's College, Lough Gill, Sligo, being appointed as permanent full-time staff; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10761/97]

The additional full year salary cost is estimated to be £10,000 per annum.

A review group, under the auspices of the Higher Education Authority, is at present examining the question of the teacher supply and demand in the second level sector including home economics.

Pending the outcome of this review it has not been possible to sanction the creation of permanent full-time posts in this case.
