Niamh Bhreathnach Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach) Labour Party

My Department has over 1,200 applications on hand seeking assistance under the national lottery fund sports capital programme. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and new applications are received daily. It would take an inordinate amount of staff time to provide details of each application for individual counties which could not be justified having regard to scarce staff resources. However, my Department will be pleased to provide the Deputy with information on any particular case in which he may have an interest. My Department expects to be in a position to notify successful applicants of grant allocations in the near future.
