Conciseness of questions and replies
Higgins asks for concise replies; the Minister says concise questions will help, and the Chair notes that five minutes will be indicated for each question.
(Mayo): On a point of order, I seek an assurance that we will not have a repeat of what happened on the last occasion there were questions to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform and we dealt with only four questions because of the long-winded replies from the Minister. The replies should be kept as concise as possible.
Comment on this
It is somewhat like a horse and carriage, if the questions are long-winded the replies must inevitably be long-winded. There is little I can do about that. If the Deputy keeps his questions concise and asks one question at a time I will reciprocate.
