Burke asked the Minister for Education and Science when exam papers, particularly Irish and French papers from the leaving certificate, will be available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who was refused access to these in September 1998 and wants a photocopy of all his papers. This year in a major new initiative I provided an opportunity for leaving certificate students to view their marked scripts under supervision.

In the initial year of operation, due to reservations held by some of the interested parties, it was not possible to make the scripts available in subjects which involved a practical or oral component. For that reason the scripts in Irish and French would not have been available to the student referred to by the Deputy.
