33 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the new works purchased by the National Gallery in each of the past five years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14666/99]

The purchase of new works by the National Gallery is a matter for the gallery itself by virtue of its collecting functions under the National Gallery Acts. I understand the gallery will supply a list directly to the Deputy of the new works purchased in the last five years.
