237 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the proposals, if any, he has to impose stricter rules in relation to the transportation of cargo of new cars by road in view of a recent accident involving two cars which struck a school bus; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9821/00]

I will consider the need for any regulatory amendment in this area when the report of the Garda investigation of this accident is made available to my Department.
