Ahearn asked the Minister for Health and Children the recommendations made by the expert review group in examining the position of paramedics and social workers; the plans, if any, he has to implement the recommendations made; and the action he will take to avert industrial action by paramedics and social workers. The report of the expert group on various health professionals was received in my Department in April 2000. It has since been considered and costed and a memorandum for Government is being prepared at present, which will be presented within the next fortnight.
