Cowley’s attempt to raise a case
Cowley protests the Taoiseach’s description of him as a right-wing doctor and says he entered politics to pursue equality, while trying to return to the man’s case. The Chair repeatedly orders him to stop and leave the House.
This is Leaders' Questions. Deputy Cowley is out of order and I ask him to resume his seat. He will have to find another way to raise the matter. If he does not resume his seat, I will have no option other than to ask him to leave the House.

The Deputy decided to enter public life. He should either stick with it or return to his practice.

I am a Member of the Dáil because I am interested in obtaining equality for people. That equality is not being achieved.

I ask the Deputy to resume his seat and allow the Taoiseach to conclude Leaders' Questions.

It is obvious to the Chair that the Deputy wishes to leave the House. I ask him to do so now.

As the Deputy will not leave, I move: "That the Deputy be suspended from the service of the Dáil." Is the motion agreed?

Under Standing Order 61, any division is postponed to take place immediately before the Order of Business on the next sitting day. The Deputy must leave the House now.

The Deputy must leave the House. If he does not do so, I will have no choice but to suspend the sitting.
