Nursing Home Charges.

Michael Collins Mr. Collins Question Independent

311 Mr. Collins asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applications received from applicants in County Limerick under the scheme for refund of nursing home charges; the number of these at present being disallowed because they relate to persons who were living in private nursing homes because they could not get a bed in a public home; and the status of the court challenge in this instance. The Health Service Executive has responsibility for administering the Repayment Scheme and the information sought by the Deputy relates to matters within the area of responsibility of the Executive. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have the matter investigated and to have a reply issued to the Deputy.
