Ministerial Appointments

207 Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Finance if the consumer advisory group provided for in the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 has been established; if so if he will provide details of the persons appointed to this group; if he will confirm if the group has met; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Brian Lenihan Minister for Finance Fianna Fáil

Under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010, the Central Bank of Ireland is responsible for appointing members to the Consumer Advisory Group. The Central Bank Reform Act 2010 commenced on 1 October 2010.

I have been informed by the Central Bank that it advertised in November 2010 inviting applicants for the Consumer Advisory Group and that the appointment process is ongoing. I understand that it is planned to announce the names of the members of the inaugural Consumer Advisory Group at the end of January.
