Motor tax retrospective deadline

Summary

Deputy Healy-Rae reports chaos over retrospective motor-tax requirements and seeks an extension to 31 October. The Ceann Comhairle directs him to table a question, while Deputy Howlin says the relevant Bill is due next year.

There is chaos in our motor tax offices at the moment because of the changeover on 1 October for retrospective taxing of motor vehicles and machinery.

What Bill are you talking about?

Comment on this

I am talking about the road traffic (no. 3) Bill and I have already asked that this deadline be extended to 31 October. It would make an awful difference.
