Summary
Martin Heydon seeks timelines for the gambling control Bill and the Horse Racing Ireland (Amendment) Bill; the Tánaiste expects the former next year and the latter this session.
I wish to ask about two tranches of legislation. The gambling control Bill proposes to update and consolidate the law on betting and gambling. When can we expect it? What is the position on the Horse Racing Ireland (amendment) Bill, which will amend and extend the Irish Horseracing Industry Act 1994 and the Horse and Greyhound Racing Act 2001.
