Local development board nominations
Deputy McGrath raises the Government’s direction that county managers should not make nominations to local development boards, linking it to the Local Government Reform Act. The Ceann Comhairle repeatedly rules that the matter is not appropriate to the Order of Business.
Under the local government Act, the Minister has directed county council chief executive officers that no nominations will take place this week at their annual general meetings regarding Leader and local development companies.
