Prior to the establishment of the HSE block capital grants were paid to the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) from its establishment and to the Health Boards for distribution as authorised on the health facilities in their areas. These grants were not allocated on a county basis. Data on expenditure is collated on the basis of facility not county. Therefore, the information as requested is not available for the period 2000 to 2004. Very high level data is available as shown in the following document. It shows the total capital allocated over a number of years to complete developments. An extensive search of archived files would be necessary to extract the data in the requested format and this exercise would require considerable staff resources.

The HSE will be requested to provide information on expenditure capital infrastructure for the period 2005 to 2010 inclusive and to reply directly to you. If you have not received a reply from the HSE within 15 working days please contact my Private Office who will follow up.
