Ann Phelan Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government Labour Party

I propose to take Questions Nos. 552 and 553 together.

The number of full-time jobs supported through LEADER in the period 2011 to 2014, by county, is detailed in the following Table 1. The number of villages and communities benefitting from capital enhancement works is detailed in the following Table 2.

As the Deputy will note, some of the Local Action Groups cover more than one county. 2014 statistics for Meath are not currently available. In relation to the Deputy’s request for data in respect of 2015, these data will not be available until early 2016.

Table 1: Number of full-time jobs created under Rural Development Programme (LEADER)

*Since 2012 Comhar na nOileán has responsibility for the Galway gaeltacht.

Table 2: Number of Villages/ Communities benefitting from enhancements

Since 2012 Comhar na nOileán has responsibility for the Galway gaeltacht also.
