585. Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the cost of providing an additional 30 DART carriages and 30 additional intercity rail carriages; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4272/16]

As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and for overall funding in relation to public transport.  Matters relating to the procurement of rail carriages are operational issues for Iarnród Eireann.
