Companies and childcare Bills

Summary

Deputy Cannon asked when the Companies (Accounting) Bill would return, and Deputy Joe Carey asked about the affordable childcare scheme Bill. The Taoiseach said the companies Bill was expected the week of 24 March and that the childcare Bill had already had pre-legislative scrutiny and was moving ahead.

When is the Companies (Accounting) Bill 2016 due to come before the Houses? The Bill seeks to resolve anomalies in the Companies Act 2014 and would thus reduce the compliance burden and costs for SMEs. It is pretty urgent and the non-passage of the Bill would have serious consequences for our indigenous SMEs.
