UN vote on Saudi nomination
Deputy Howlin repeatedly pressed the Tánaiste on whether Ireland supported Saudi Arabia’s nominee for the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The Tánaiste said UN voting is not disclosed, and other Members challenged the refusal to answer.
I wish to ask the Tánaiste a very short and direct question. Did the Republic of Ireland support the nominee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the position of UN Commission on the Status of Women?
