Farmyard burning derogation

Summary

Deputy Healy-Rae objected to the proposed end of the annual burning derogation for scrub and farm waste. The Taoiseach said he would seek clarity from the Minister and stressed biodiversity concerns, while the Deputy insisted burning remained necessary.

It is scrub and brush that needs to be burned.

This is a derogation. The Taoiseach should know that there is a derogation signed every January.
