CAMHS access for suicidal child
Deputy Denis Naughten raised a child with ADHD who cannot access CAMHS despite expressing suicidal wishes, and welcomed a forthcoming debate on the report.
I repeatedly raised with the HSE the case of a ten-year-old child with ADHD who has expressed on a number of occasions the wish to die but yet cannot access the child and adult mental health services, CAMHS. This is just one of the thousands of cases across the country. I thank the Chief Whip for facilitating a debate on this important issue on Thursday. It is important that the report be thoroughly debated in the House.
