Deputy Imelda Munster asked the Minister for Health if he intends to respond to correspondence received from a person (details supplied) regarding the matter of a nursing home charging a medical card holder for medically necessary items; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I wish to inform the Deputy that a reply has issued in relation to the correspondence referenced.

Additional correspondence has since been received, and the Department is following up with the Health Service Executive in respect of the further matters raised.
