200. Deputy Patricia Ryan asked the Minister for Health the number of firms who tendered for the contract to provide 530 public nursing home beds, as signed off by the Minister in December 2022, and the oversight, if any, the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform had over the entire process. The Tender was completed under Directive 2014/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26th February 2014 (S.I. No. 284/2016 (the “2016 Regulations”)).

A contract notice was published on eTenders and sent to the OJEU on 20 September 2019.

261 Parties registered an interest in the Tender. 96 of these parties formally withdrew their expression of Interest. 4 Tender responses were received by the deadline on 1 November 2019.

The tender process was conducted in line with Procurement rules, requirements of the Public Spending Code and all relevant circulars issued by the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.
