Visa requirements between Ukraine and Ireland were lifted on 25 February 2022 to streamline and support the exit of Ukrainian nationals fleeing Russian aggression and the activation shortly thereafter of the Temporary Protection Directive. Since then temporary protection has been granted to over 118,000 people eligible under the terms of the Directive.

The below table shows how many Ukrainian nationals have applied for international protection since February 2022.
