Security Duty Allowance is paid to certain members of the Permanent Defence Force who undertake Security duties.

A proposal to bring the RDF in line with their PDF counterparts has been approved in principle by the Department. Consideration of the criteria to be applied, the mechanism for applying for and payment of SDA to members of the RDF is being advanced by the Defence Forces.
