Darragh O'Brien Minister for Transport Fianna Fáil

Within the Greater Dublin Area Transport Strategy 2022-2042, the National Transport Authority outlines how the transport system will be developed to meet the needs of a growing population while also halving emissions across the region - covering Dublin, Meath, Wicklow and Kildare - by 2030. As well as significant investment in active, shared and public transport infrastructure and services, the Strategy highlights that a key lever for reducing emissions as well as congestion will be a demand management scheme for the GDA. The new Moving Together strategy, which I published earlier this month, provides the impetus for bringing forward such a scheme.

I have referred the Deputy’s question to the NTA for a more detailed reply on the scheme and its timeline. If you do not receive a reply within 10 working days, please contact my private office.
