Darragh O'Brien Minister for Transport Fianna Fáil

The security of the systems that support Ireland's public transport network is a priority for my Department. Responsibilities for cyber security are clearly assigned and are delivered in conjunction with relevant national bodies and specialist security partners, ensuring alignment with recognised industry frameworks and Government guidance.

My officials engage regularly with the bodies responsible for delivering public transport services under the aegis of the Department to assure their continued alignment with these frameworks and obligations. These bodies will also fall within scope of forthcoming cybersecurity requirements arising from the transposition of the EU NIS2 Directive into Irish law.
