Departmental Funding
577. Deputy Johnny Guirke asked the Minister for Education and Youth the amount of funding allocated to schools in County Meath under the summer works scheme in each of the past three years, by school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [34407/26]

As the Deputy may be aware, the purpose of the Summer Works Scheme (SWS) is to enable individual school authorities to undertake small-scale building works on a devolved basis and, ideally, can be carried out during the summer months or at other times that avoid disrupting the operation of the school. The SWS operates on a multi-annual basis for categories of works such as roof works, window replacement, mechanical and electrical works, external works etc.
In November 2025, my colleague the former Minister, Helen McEntee TD, announced the first tranche of approvals under the new Climate Action Summer Works Scheme (CASWS). 297 projects were approved to proceed in 2026, this included 99 remaining projects from the previous Summer Works Scheme. Which included 10 schools in the county of Meath.
Since 2020 my department has provided funding to the value of €199m under the Summer works scheme to schools. The below table sets out the funding provided under the Summer Works Scheme in each of the past 3 years for the county of Meath as per the Deputy's request:
