As set out in both Circular 44/2019, covering Promotion and Leadership in Recognised Primary Schools, and Circular 3/2018, covering Leadership and Management in Post-Primary Schools, candidates are required to demonstrate their capacity in relation to four identified competencies set out in the Circular. The circulars provide that a candidate can do so with relevant examples of professional, educational and life experience.

It is a matter for the teacher to outline their relevant experience to the Interview Panel and to demonstrate how that experience contributes to their capacity to meet the requirements of the post.
